Bay Area Mineralogists (aka "BAM") is an informal association of professional and advanced amateur mineralogists and geology professionals living mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most of our members are, or have been, active field collectors of mineral specimens in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and other states. We have monthly meetings, host talks about mineralogy, and go on collecting field trips.

Our website is an extension of our original charter and is intended to promote interests in advanced mineralogy and mineral collecting, especially as it applies to Northern California. Many of our members have decades of collecting and identification experience in California, which makes the group an invaluable wealth of mineralogical and geological knowledge.
